Sue Kingdom is our candidate for the upcoming by-election for a new councilor for the Fremington ward of North Devon District Council. The election is taking place on 2nd April as a result of the untimely death of Cllr Neil Denton. Our thoughts are with his family and friends.
"My name is Sue and I am Chair of Fremington Parish Council and Treasurer for Fremington Parish Hall.
These are not easy times for all of us. Locally, we are struggling with the impact of new developments springing up everywhere. Though our young people need new housing, most of the homes are not affordable by local people and our infrastructure simply cannot cope. Where are the doctors, dentists and school places going to come from – or jobs – when local people are struggling as it is? And how will our roads cope when Fremington is so often brought to a standstill today?
As Chair of Fremington Parish Council I see all these problems first hand but am powerless to act. Should you lend me your vote, I pledge that, working with my Conservative colleagues on North Devon Council, I will ensure local residents’ voices are heard when planning decisions are made. Planning of new homes, roads, education and health are not joined-up and I will do my best to make sure they are in future.
Sue Kingdom believes in the power of community. Her goal is simple - to be the voice for the residents and business owners of Fremington. Sue will ask the questions that you want answers to and will work hard to ensure your voices and opinions are heard.
